Cheshire, England – Good Spells, the enigmatic British music producer, artist, and songwriter, has unleashed a mesmerizing sonic journey with the latest release, \\\’Time Again\\\’. This profound track delves into the heart of \\\’Dark Pop\\\’ or \\\’Alt Pop\\\’, intricately weaving experimental production with mainstream aesthetics and electronica influences.

Classified within the realms of Electronic, Commercial DnB, and Pop, \\\’Time Again\\\’ captivates with its deep, atmospheric, and energetic allure. Good Spells\\\’ signature sound resonates profoundly, enveloping listeners in a hauntingly beautiful sonic landscape.

At the core of \\\’Time Again\\\’ lies a poignant message touching on grief and loss. Good Spells aims to provoke introspection, urging listeners to contemplate what they might do differently if faced with the last moments with a loved one.

Drawing inspiration from an eclectic mix of musical legends such as The Prodigy, TOOL, London Grammar, Glitch Mob, and Sleep Token, Good Spells\\\’ evolution as an artist is evident in the track\\\’s emotive depth. Embracing engineering prowess over the past year, the artist now engineers all of their own music, adding a new dimension to their creative repertoire.

Working out of the creatively charged Spells\\\’ Lab in a converted Airstream trailer, Good Spells fuses nostalgic nuances of solo synth and sample work with ambient sound design and dark-pop aesthetics. With a background in producing for others and overseeing commercial recording studios, this solo venture embodies a passion for alt-genre, synth-driven music, and traditional song-writing.

Looking ahead, Good Spells\\\’ focus remains steadfast on continuous creation, both musically and visually. Their music videos are an integral part of their artistic expression, promising more immersive experiences for fans.

Velve unleashes new album ANALOG

Dark Berlin techno – progressive, minimalist and experimental, by VELVE  – the Berlin singer, songwriter, composer and producer, who was celebrated by the press as first voice ever behind interactive AI in GAS (e.g. Apple\\\’s SIRI, BMW navigation system etc.) and thus became the \\\”most famous voice in German-speaking countries\\\” overnight (SRF).

Avoiding any digital element, Velve develops a new signature sound on ANALOG with two analog synthesizers and her voice alone, creating hard 4/4 kicks and stylish oscillator emulations, which organically condense into complex percussive and ambient structures. At the latest since her signing with Wise Music, the artist has proven what she is capable of. They praise the singer\\\’s \\\”warm and powerful voice\\\”, her \\\”poetic talent\\\” and \\\”a keen sense of cinematic compositions and an internationally respectable avant-garde sound\\\”. (Musikwoche)  And indeed – Velve\\\’s unmistakable voice imparts a top-class finish to ANALOG\\\’s fat sounds. The tempo is up, the performance rough and outrageous.

In terms of concept and content the album is provocative – with ANALOG Velve wants to make a statement against the imminent standardization in art and music through artificial intelligence. \\\”What began as a hype is now becoming a threat to many people\\\’s livelihoods, to freedom of expression and opinion, to our democracy.\\\”

Velve plays shockingly beautifully with cyborg and gender effects on ANALOG, e.g. in LUCA and CHAMPAGNE, and sings about AI replacing us and hurling us into equanimity. The album deals with the resulting social alienation, and Velve\\\’s soul-soothing voice sweeps through her songs like diamond dust.

With cleverly interspersed sentences in her native language, the artist immortalizes her scrutinizing Siri voice in SMARTPHONE, as well as her navigation voice familiar to millions of listeners in NAVIGATION. The album cover features a coin with Velve\\\’s likeness – as a symbol for the value of human creative achievement. The coin was designed by Emil Schult, who formerly also designed the legendary KRAFTWERK record covers. A courageous and at the same time extremely club-friendly album.

John Digweed Shares Star-studded New Album Futuro

The UK legend’s carefully curated new LP contains 25 exclusive new tracks of gripping acid house

John Digweed – Futuro (Bedrock Records)

PreOrder: https://bedrockshop.com

Legendary DJ John Digweed unveils his new album Futuro, a jam-packed compilation out via Bedrock Records on 17th November.

Futuro sees John Digweed bringing together an all-star arsenal of synth-drenched acid house. Featuring 25 exclusive tracks from luminary artists such as David Morales, Rodriguez Jr, Bushwacka, Marco Bailey, Nick Muir and Captain Mustache, the album has been carefully curated and compiled and mixed by the UK legend himself.

Digweed and Nick Muir set the scene with atmospheric opener ‘FuturaScent Intro’, before the intricate polyrhythms of Carrera & Tavares and the synth-soaked euphoria of Davi tackle centre stage. Bushwacka’s ‘Lectrobee’, the lead single from the album, is an enthralling breakbeat sequenced deep into CD1, while highlights of CD2 include second album single, John Digweed, Nick Muir and Captain Mustache’s uptempo heater ‘Bleu Cobalt’, as well as futuristic stunner ‘The Last Call’ from Martin HERRS, Aliot & Bunbeck, to name just a few. From back to front, Futuro is an irrepressible odyssey through some of the most thrilling acid house music being produced today.

“I am really proud of this latest album, there are so many amazing producers that have delivered some incredible music ranging from ambient to house, breaks, techno and so much more.” John Digweed explains. “I have always strived to deliver mixes that feature a wide range of styles and ‘Futuro’ is a perfect example of this. I hope you will enjoy the journey.”

The release continues a typically industrious year for John Digweed. Having recently released the EP Tripchain / Scanalatura with Frankie Wah and Nick Muir, as well as celebrating 25 years of Bedrock with a day party at XOYO London on 1st October to coincide with his 1000th Transitions Radio show, the UK legend is as vital as ever.

John Digweed is a DJ’s DJ. The beauty of what he does lies in just how different he really is from his contemporaries. From his early beginnings in the blossoming scene of acid house to the apex of the international DJ’ing world he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both dj’s and producers globally. In fact, he has reached the very top of his profession, being voted #1 in a voter’s poll by DJ Magazine in 2001.

His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights of which would be the first official DJ mix compilation (“The Mix Collection”, with Sasha), being the first British DJ to hold a residency at what was then the world’s most well known club in NYC Twilo as well as having remixed some of the biggest bands alongside studio partner Nick Muir. Over 60 official Mix CD compilations released and coming up to 1000 Transitions worldwide Weekly radio shows, reaching over 14 million a week in over 60 countries a real testament to John commitment to showcasing new music every.

A bumper pack of synth-soaked acid house, Futuro is another forward-thinking release from John Digweed, making the most of an all-star roster of stellar artists and collaborators.

Next summer, Swiss house and techno duo, Adriatique, will be curating an exclusive open-air show on the grounds of the historic 17th century Tofte Manor.

On Saturday 6th July 2024, the pair will take their inimitable deep, melodic sound to the rolling Bedfordshire countryside, to unite a hand-picked selection of their favourite artists against the breath-taking backdrop of Tofte Manor and its unique labyrinth.

With releases on prestigious labels including Diynamic and Afterlife, the duo have become all too familiar with unmissable one-off events at iconic locations all over the world including Zurich, Tel Aviv, Ibiza, and New York under their ‘X’ brand, as well as their now famous ‘Cercle’ shows at the Hatsheput Temple in Egypt and on the slopes of the French Alps.

Having sold out the iconic Camden Roundhouse, next summer Adriatique will be adding their list of unique locations, taking ravers into the deepest, grooviest corners of their record box over an extended 3 hour sunset set to soundtrack what will be one of Tofte Manor’s most electrifying events yet. With the full line-up still to be revealed, Adriatique’s takeover of Tofte Manor will see thousands of ravers escaping to the countryside for this one-day experience.

Presented as an idyllic retreat just 60 miles North of London, the unique venue has hosted some of electronic music’s biggest names including Jungle, Keinemusik, Maribou State, Dixon, TSHA, Floating Points, and even the worldwide debut live set of Fred Again…

Combining the energy and atmosphere of a spiritual sanctuary, guests will have the opportunity to explore the ancient labyrinth on the grounds of the historic estate and, unburdened by the restrictive sound restrictions experienced at inner-city open-air events, immerse themselves completely in this truly unmissable experience.

July 6th will be the first of two dates for Labyrinth at Tofte Manor next summer, with Fatboy Slim’s event on 7th July already sold out in the pre-sale.
